Here's things I do to overcome my eczema:
1. Steroids
Even though steroid medications may have negative impact in long term usage, but still, I highly suggest to use it. From my past experiences, steriod medication is the only thing to cure my eczema. Apply it twice a day. I usually apply it before I sleep. If you want it to absorbed completely to your skin, I recommend you to coat it with cotton wool with surgical tape.
2. Vaseline
I apply vaseline frequently on my eczema area. I started doing it when I had hand eczema. There are constant cracking and skin peeling off, so I apply it whenever I feel my hands are not moisturize enough. It shows great result after constant use of Vaseline. Less cracking, dryness and itchiness. I apply vaseline immediately after washed my hands and bath. It really helps a lot!
My skin tends to be thicker when I had eczema. Vaseline helps smoothing my skins so that steroids medication can be absorbed easily.Although it can't cure eczema, but it do makes your skin feels better.
3. Avoid food that you allergic to
You'll need time to figure out which food you're allergic to. Normally your skin will tell you which food you're allergic to, either immediately or 4-5 hours after you eat. In my case, my mouth will itch immediately if I'm allergic to that particular food. Observe your skin, if a new blister was found, recall back what you ate 3-4 hours before.
P.S. I'm allergic to tomato and eggplant.
4. Time
If you had done all three methods above, but still can't get a result, don't be too depressed and panic! It will heal automatically after a period of time. From past my experiences, it will need 1 year the least to cure. If the particular steroid didn't work for you for 3weeks, stop using it (unless you're very itchy).
I switched to another steroid with higher percentage a few weeks ago and I can immediately see a difference on my hand eczema the next day. Used it for a week and my hand eczema almost cured.
