Listerine as armpit deodorant

Recently I read an article about wide variety uses of Listerine, one of them was using it as an armpit deodorant. Based on my curiosity, I google searched but can't really find any people sharing their experience on Listerine. SO, I decided to experiment it myself.

And yes, it's a life saver.

I had never use a mouthwash before. Listerine natural green tea was my first ever mouthwash. I expected it to smells like 'natural green tea', surprisingly, the smell was so intense that I almost gave up. However, I decided to give it a try, swiped it on my pits using cotton wool and went out for 6 hours. It smells quite strong when I first apply but faded afterwards. My pits felt so refreshed and not stink throughout the day!

How I recover from my eczema

I had my eczema on many parts of my body from time to time in the past 5 years. If you're interested in my eczema story, please click the here.

Here's things I do to overcome my eczema:

1. Steroids
Even though steroid medications may have negative impact in long term usage, but still, I highly suggest to use it. From my past experiences, steriod medication is the only thing to cure my eczema. Apply it twice a day. I usually apply it before I sleep. If you want it to absorbed completely to your skin, I recommend you to coat it with cotton wool with surgical tape.

2. Vaseline
I apply vaseline frequently on my eczema area. I started doing it when I had hand eczema. There are constant cracking and skin peeling off, so I apply it whenever I feel my hands are not moisturize enough. It shows great result after constant use of Vaseline. Less cracking, dryness and itchiness. I apply vaseline immediately after washed my hands and bath. It really helps a lot!
My skin tends to be thicker when I had eczema. Vaseline helps smoothing my skins so that steroids medication can be absorbed easily.Although it can't cure eczema, but it do makes your skin feels better.

3. Avoid food that you allergic to
You'll need time to figure out which food you're allergic to. Normally your skin will tell you which food you're allergic to, either immediately or 4-5 hours after you eat. In my case, my mouth will itch immediately if  I'm allergic to that particular food. Observe your skin, if a new blister was found, recall back what you ate 3-4 hours before.
P.S. I'm allergic to tomato and eggplant.

4. Time
If you had done all three methods above, but still can't get a result, don't be too depressed and panic! It will heal automatically after a period of time. From past my experiences, it will need 1 year the least to cure. If the particular steroid didn't work for you for 3weeks, stop using it (unless you're very itchy).
I switched to another steroid with higher percentage a few weeks ago and I can immediately see a difference on my hand eczema the next day. Used it for a week and my hand eczema almost cured.

My eczema story

I'd been suffer from eczema about 5 years now. It went through many parts body from time to time. The first time I'm having my eczema was on my back. And for now, it's on my hands. I'm quite positive to eczema, as I know it will heal itself if you continuous using steriods and moisturizer, but somehow, just sometimes, especially the nights when I'm alone in my bedroom, applying steriod medication, I feel sad and annoyed at the same time. I pray everytime before sleep, that I will not get a new scratch mark in the morning. Funny fact was, I tend to scratch a lot without conscious during my sleeping time and ending out hurting myself.

Every morning when I open the tap, the water flush on my wound, even the pain sensation was mild, it makes me feels so bad emotionally. It bothers me a lot too when I saw my fingernails stuck with dead skin that I scratched away yesterday night. I tried to cover my hands with cotton pad, but it magically "disappeared" during the night.

Hand eczema is harder to cure compared with other body area. It's been a year and half now, from a small area on my right palm to left palm, even my 2nd finger has it now. I was in my worst condition on one day after I cook lunch for my family. It was so itchy 30 minutes after and my hands feel burning hot after I applied moisturizer. It was a total nightmare!

Update:
Eczema on both of my hands are getting better now ( almost cured)
If you wished to know how I cure my eczema, I have another post on how I cure my eczema

DIY deodorant (with no baking soda) with tea bag

Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog

Today's topic is DIY deodorant. There are many DIY deodorant recipes out there. And, baking powder is the most popular ingredient of all time. I was going to try the recipe when I read it, but I gave out. There are many comments on the negative outcomes of baking soda, like irritation under your armpits. Also, I read other recipe, using clay, witch hazel to replace baking soda. Sadly, i don't have any of them in my house, and I don't want to spend money on them.

After a few days google searching, I kind of gave out.

Then one day, after finished my work, my armpits stink a lot! And I hate that feeling so much! I knew it was because of  "bacteria farts" under my pits and I can't wait to kill all the bacteria on my pits!

Immediately I thought of baking soda. The reason baking soda works is because it's low pH value, then I related it's acidic properties to TEA. Tea has tannic acid! So, i add some water and swipe the tea bag on my pits for a few times. Guess what? IT WORKS! MY SMELL GOES AWAY IN SECONDS! I went from smelly pits to sweet tea smell!
+ And it last for hours before i went to bath.

The next day, after I clean my pits ( I shaved it ), I swipe tea bag under my pits a few times again. After 9hours of working, my pits are not smelly. I'm so glad it works!

My feeling after using tea bag as deodorant:

My armpits sweat less. Even if they sweat, they only smell like green tea! I love it! No more complicated recipes, no more research! I finally found a simple way to keep my pits refresh!!

# Note: I only add a little water, so it is a very concentrated tea. Then you can dry it out and use it again. And yes, I didn't reapply during my working hour.

Review: Kate smooth colour rouge

Hey guys! Today I'm going do a review on Kate Tokyo smooth colour rouge lipstick BE-1.

I bought this lipstick a few weeks before in a local drugstore ( Watson Malaysia). I initially was going to buy Maybelline watershine pure lipstick but a worker there suggest me to buy Kate lipstick. She told me Kate lipstick provide more moisture to lips than Maybelline. I personally prefer a lipstick that give me moisture more than it's staying power, so I just gave it a try and I LOVE IT!

What Kate smooth colour rouge lipstick claimed:

A lipstick that achieves strong coloration, smooth application, and tight clinginess
It provides a brilliant color and luster to create the ideal lips.

Kate Tokyo is lauching 10 shades now!

I tried all the colours and they are GORGEOUS. I had a hard time in choosing the shades (THE STRUGGLE IS REAL). Finally, I bought an interesting, not too dramatic shade that can brighten my lips ( BE-1). It is good for school days and daily use!

Price

RM22.80

Swatch:

one swatch
*lightning problem* the shade was actually darker

My experience with Kate smooth colour rouge

It does what it claims to be. It's smooth to apply, strong coloration and doesn't dried my lips. The lipstick size is smaller so you can apply it easily. However, it does not survive after you eat and it's staying power is about 4 hours.

Will I repurchase?

Yes. I will try other shades as well.

Overall, I'm very satisfied to the it gave me!

Hey guys! It's been a while since I last update my blog. I'm having holidays now (waiting to go overseas for studies). My holidays started on March, which is 3 months away from now. Some of you might curious what I'd been doing during this long-period holidays. I didn't go for work, instead I decided to do some self-improvement activities. I travel, practiced guitar and had a great time bonding with my family. Oh! I also invested on cosmetic and body-care product. I bought some of them and going to write reviews on them. They will be all honest opinion of my own self (I'M NOT SPONSORED ANYWAYS). For body care products, I will update a bit late, just to give the product more time to justify it's function. I will also diy some bodycare products and giving my opinion on healthcare problems. SO, please stay tuned!
